The bigger the capability is, the longer the time requried. Normally, a 40G HDD takes about eighty seconds to format.

    QSD2304L DVR User’s Manual CHAPTER 4 Remote Surveillance 4.1 Accessing DVR Our DVR supports control through an Internet Explorer (IE) browser, to access through IE you need to download and install ActiveX controls for remotely controlling the DVR. Before remotely controlling the DVR, you need to connect the DVR to the router by Ethernet cable. If you access the DVR through the internet, you need to setup DVR and router parameters first (Refer to Appendix D).
