This manual explains how to assemble, use,
and maintain the M9.31 Low Impact Tread-
mill. The following conventions are used in
this manual.
Note: Contains additional information that
applies to the preceding text.

CAUTION: This unit weighs over 250
pounds (113 kilograms). To avoid injury
and to ensure the safety of the unit and
yourself, get adequate assistance before
unpacking your treadmill. Break down the
container's side walls before removing
anything from the box.

Before You Begin

Thank you for purchasing the Precor M9.31 Low Impact Treadmill. Precor has incorporated
an innovative design and some of the most popular features in the health and fitness
industry into the M9.31 product line.
Ground Effects allows the treadmill's running bed to absorb and cushion the shock of
walking or running by utilizing specially formulated elastomeric springs. Integrated
Footplant Technology (IFT) replicates the natural walking and running motion of your
feet which helps reduce shock and pounding to your body.
The M9.31 offers an interactive display that lets you select data and control your
workout session. Precor SmartRate
aid that lets you see your heart rate with a glance,

Do not attempt to service the M9.31 Low Impact Treadmill yourself except for minor
belt adjustments and maintenance as described in this manual. The M9.31 treadmill
does not contain any user-serviceable parts. For information about product operation or
service, check out the Precor web site at www.precor.com or call Precor Customer
Support at 1-800-347-4404.
If you have any questions regarding the treadmill, use the model and serial numbers
whenever you contact Precor Customer Support.
The serial number can be found on the shipping container or on the label near the
power receptacle. For future reference, write the serial and model number and date of
purchase in the space provided below.

Unpacking the M9.31 Low Impact Treadmill

The M9.31 treadmill is carefully tested and inspected before shipment. Precor ships
the unit in components, as listed below:
Running bed assembly
Right and left upright supports
Display console
Right and left center handrail (two sections) — found inside cardboard packing.
Right and left center handrail side covers — packaged inside a plastic bag.
Power cord — packaged inside the shipping container in a plastic bag.
Hardware kit — shrinkwrapped to cardboard.
Owner's manual — packaged inside the shipping container in a plastic bag.
