PIP OPERATIONS
AND CONNECTIONS
Cable Decoder Connection
This illustration shows the connection of both a cable-TV
decoder and a stereo VCR to your TV. Using this connec-
tion, you are capable of, but not limited to, the following
operation:
*
Select ANT/CABLE
2 for main picture source to view
unscrambled
cable, channels tuned by the TV.
Simultaneously,
select VIDEO I for PIP source to view
-in
the PIP inset-
a tape playing in the VCR or a
different
channel tuned by the cable decoder.
(VCR's
TV/VCR button set to VCR.)

Select ANT/CABLE
1 for main picture source to view
premium
cable channels
tuned by the cable decoder.
(Tune TV to channel 3 or 4.)
Simultaneously,
select VIDEO 1 for PIP source to view

the PIP inset-
a tape playing in the VCR. (VCR's
TV/VCR button set to TV.)

Sources may also be swapped. In other words, VIDEO 1
may be the main picture source and ANT/CABLE
1 the
PIP source.
HOW TO SELECT
MAIN PICTURE
& PIP SOURCE
In order to watch a different picture in the PIP inset, you
must choose a different source than the one used for your
main TV picture. "Source" refers to the input jacks on the
back of your TV set from which the video and audio signals
are being received. These jack., correspond
to the selec-
tions in the source menu.

ANT/CABLE
1 or 2 (Input from antenna, direct cable
connection, or cable decoder)
•
VIDEO 1 or 2 (Input from VCR, Laser Disc,
Camcorder etc.)
•
S-VIDEO 1 (Input from Super-VHS
VCR)
The sources are identified by color in both the displays and
on the connection center.
The color for the Channel/Time
display, Volume and Mute displays match the color of the
source you are watching. The e31or also heJps !identify
which source you are watching when viewing PIP.
