The gear (hex)shaft shouldbe lubrbatedat bast once

1, Removethelowerframecover by removingthe two
screwswhichsecureit,
2, Applya lightcoatingof an aBweathermulti-purpose
greaseto the hex shaft, See Figure8,
WheeJe
At bast once a season,removeboth wheeB,Cleanand
coat theaxles with a multipurposeautomotive grease
beforereinstalling wheels,
Chute Directional
Control
Oncea season,theioystickshouldbe lubrbatedwith
petrobum ielly,linseedoil, mineraloil, paraffinwaxor
3-in-1oil,
Auger Shaft
At leastonce a season,removethe shearpinson auger
shaft, Spraylubricantinsideshaft,aroundthe spacers,
ABe lubricatethe flangebearingsfoundat eitherend of
the shaft, See Figure9,
Gear Case
The auger gearcase has beenfilled with greaseat the
factory,If disassembled for anyreason,lubricatewith
two ouncesof grease(PartNumber737_0168),
On modelsequippedwith a greasefitting, usea grease
gun to lubrbatethe auger gear case,
NOTE: Donot overfillthe gearcase, Damageto the
sealscould resuL Be surethe vent plug is freeof
greasein order to relievepressure,
Shave
P_ate and
Skid
Shoes
The shave plateand skid shoeson the bottomof the
snowthrowerare subiectto wear,They shouldbe
checkedperiodicallyand replacedwhennecessary,
To removeskid shoes:
1, Removethefour carriagebolts and hexflangenuts
whichsecurethem to the snowthrower,
2, Reassemble newskid shoes with thefour carriage
bolts (two on each side)and hexflangenuts, Refer
to Figure10,
To removeshaveplate:
1, Removethecarriageboltsand hexnuts which
attachit to the snow throwerhousing,
