Make sure the precision straightedge and the
table surface are free of debris, then place
the straightedge on the back of the outfeed
table and across the cutterhead.
Note: In the following steps, the process
of checking the outfeed table for the cor-
rect height above the cutterhead is different
between knife-style and spiral cutterheads.
Knife-Style cutterhead: the correct outfeed
table height is

cutterhead Body, as measured with a feeler
gauge (see Figure 69). rotate the cutterhead
to make sure the knives do not interfere with
proper measurement.
Spiral cutterhead: the outfeed table is
at the correct height above the cutterhead
when an insert is at the top-dead-center or
at its highest point of rotation just touches
the straightedge without lifting it, as shown
in Figure 69. rotate the cutterhead pulley to
properly position an insert below the straight-
edge.

if the outfeed table surface is not at the right
height, use the handwheel to bring the table
to the correct height above the cutterhead,
then tighten the table lock to secure the set-
ting.

to check the outfeed table parallelism with
the cutterhead body, place the straightedge
on the front of the table and measure the
height above the cutterhead, as instructed in
Step 4.
— if the measurements of the front and back
of the table are within 0.002" or less of
each other, no further adjustments to the
outfeed table are required. proceed to
Step 12.
— if the front table measurement is Not cor-
rect and within the tolerance of the back
measurement, continue to Step 7.

remove the front table cover to expose
the table adjustment bolts, as shown in
Figure 70.
Note: For Models G9953, G9953ZX, and
G9953ZXF, you will need to remove the
brake handle and hub before removing the
cover.
