Connect
one RCA audio cable to the AUDIO
INPUT
terminal
on the other VCR. Connect
the other end of this cable to the AUDIO
OUTPUT
terminal
on the HS-U420
(labeled
L). If the other VCR is mono, you need a Y-
adapter
to record both audio channels.

Set the input
of th,_ other VCR to "Exter-
nal."
O
Put a blank tape into the other VCR land
find l:he place where you want to begin
recording.
Press
STOP.

If the other VCR has stereo
outputs,
con-
nect another
RCA audio cable to the AU-
DIO INPUT
terminal
of the other VCR.
Connect
the other end of this cable to the
AUDIO OUTPUT
terminal
on the HS-U420
(labeled
R).
Connect
a video cable to the VIDEO INPUT
terminal
on the other VCR. Connect
the
other
end of this cable to the VIDEO
OUTPUT
terminal
on the HS-U420
(labeled
VIDEO OUT).
Set the audio monitor
on the HS-U420
to
"Stereo."
(See "Selecting
and adjusting
the
audio and video functions,"
on page 30.)

Put, the tape you want to copy into the
HS-U420
and find tke place from which
you want to begin copying.
Press PLAY/
STOP.
On the other VCR, press record (REC),
and 1;hen PAUSE.

On the HS-U420,
press PLAY/STOP
and
then PAUSE.
O
Release
the PAUSE
button
on bol:h VCRs
at the same time.
O
Press PLAY/STOP
(or STOP) on both
VCRs when you are finished.

_>Important:
The child lock feature
prevents
others from using your VCR. To
lock the VCR:
O
Press and hold down the DISPLAY
button
on the remote
control
for about 8 seconds. The LOCK light on the fluores-
cent display
will light ui3.
To cancel the child lock, press and hold down the DISPLAY
button
for about 8 seconds, until the LOCK light goes out.
You can lock the VCR with the power ofT, even if the VCR is
standing
by for a programmed
recording.
If you lock the VCR with
no cassette
in it, the VCR will not accept a cassette.
