Using I_1 (Auto) Mode
Shooting Subjects Not Suitable for Autofocus
VVhen shooting a subject that is not suitable for autofo¢ us (1_[_31),try pressing tile
shutter release button halfway to refocus several times, or try the following
techniques.
1 Switch to I_1 (auto) mode ([_[_38) and
select Touch AF/AE for the touch
shooting setting.

_I Tap another subject that is as far from
the camera as the desired subject.

Press the shutter-release button
halfway.
• The camera focuses on the subject and the
focus area glows green.
• Exposure is locked for the subject on which
focus is acquired when the shutter release
button is pressed halfway.
4 Continue holding down the shutter-
release button halfway and
recompose the image.
• Besureto maintain the samedistance
between the cameraand the subject while
the shutter-releasebutton is pressedhalfway.
5 Press the shutter-release button the rest of the
way down to take the picture.
