Step 3 Frame a Picture
Using
the
Zoom
Use tile zoom conuo[ to activate opdca[ zoom.
• To zoom in closer to the subject, rotate the zoom
control to T (telephoto).
• To zoom out and view a larger area, rotate the zoom
control to W (wide angle).
• The zoom position is set at the nlaxinlum wide angle
position when the canlera is turned on.
• A zoonl indicator is displayed at the top of the
monitor when the zoom control is rotated.

and holding the zoom control at T triggers digital zoom. The subject is magnified

Unlike optical

uses a digital
imaging
process
known
as interpolation
to magnify
images,
resulting
in slight deterioration
of image quality
according
to the image
mode

is applied
at zoom
positions
beyond

still images,
When zoom

increased
beyond

interpolation
is initiated
and the zoom
indicator
turns yellow
