Face
Priority
and
Smiling
Face
Detection
features
When the camera
is pointed
at a people's
face (front
_ce)
in the smile
mode, the face is
automatically
recognized
and the smiling
face of the recognized
one is detected.
• In some shooting
conditions,
_ce recognition
does not work
and _ces cannot
be detected.

Operation
of
Shutter-Release
Button
Press the shutter
release button
to shoot pictures.
• When
the Face priority
takes effect,
the focus is locked to the recognized
face and the shutter
release button
is automatically
released.
• When
the Face priority
doesn't
take effect, the camera
focuses on subject
in center of frame.
• When
the shutter
release button
is pressed
halfway and released
in Face priority
mode, the
camera
will recognize
the face again. Pressing _) will also recognize
the face again.

Recognition
of Add
to List
In some shooting
conditions,
even if people
are registered
in the Add
to list and Face recognition
is set to ON (_
48), the registered
people
may not be recognized,

Available
Functions
in Smile
Mode
• Settings
can be changed
for Flash mode
(1_ 28) and Exposure Compensation

32),
• Digital zoom
is not available.

Shooting
in the
Smile
Mode
When any of the following
conditions
persists in the Smile mode, the auto
off (_
125) will be
effective
and the camera
will turn
off,
• When
the camera
does not recognize
any faces for a while
• When
the camera
recognized
the face but cannot
detect
a smiling
face
