O Connecting to audio L/R jacks
This couuectiou uses a stereo amplifier's
(receiver's) two fiout speakers for souud.
You can enjoy the surround function that creates
virtual speakers fiom two stereo speakers. Select
"Surround l ," "Surround2," or "Surround3" in
"Surround" of the "Audio" setup (page 101 ).

Q Connecting toa digitalaudioinput jack
Use this connection it your AV amplifier
(receiver) has a Dolby '_' I Digital or DTS '_'2decoder
and a digital input jack. You can enjoy the
surround effect of Dolby Digital (5.1ch) or DTS
(5. I ch).
Alter you have completed the connection, make
the appropriate settings under the "Audio" setup
(page 100). Otherwise, no sound or a loud noise
will come from your speakers.

switch the bilingual sounds on a DVD-RW/DVD-R
(VR mode) by pressing AUDIO when you set "Dolby
Digital" to "Dolby Digital" in the "Audio" setup
(page 100).

Make sure Ihat your listening position is between and at
an equal distance from your speakers, and thai the
speakers are located in similar surroundings.
During DVD recording, the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT
jack outputs DVD audio signals only. You cannot hear
VHS SOtlnd by' pressing VIDEO.
