Removing From Carton - Craftsman 247.88999 Operator's Manual

NOTE:References to rightor left sideof the snowthrowerare
determined from behindthe unit in the operatingposition(standing
directlybehindthe snow thrower,facingthe handlepanel).
REMOVING FROM CARTON
1. Cut the cornersof thecarton and lay the sidesflat on the ground.
Removeand discard all packinginserts.
2. Movethe snowthrowerout of thecarton.
3. Makecertainthe carton has beencompletelyemptiedbefore
discardingit.
ASSEMBLY
1. Observethe lowerreararea of the snowthrowerto be sure both
cablesare alignedwith rollerguidesbeforepivotingthe handle
upward.
a. Placethe shiftleverin the F6position.
b. Pull up and back on upperhandleas shownin Figure1.As
youare raisingthe handleupward,make surethat bothends
of the centercableare positionedproperlyin the brackets.
Align upperhandlewith the lowerhandle.
c. Tightenhandknobs securingupper handleto lowerhandle.
Removeand discard any rubberbands,if present.Theyare
for packagingpurposesonly.
2. Removewingnut and hexscrewfrom chutecontrolassembly
and clevispin and cotter pin fromchute supportbracket.See
Figure2. Positionthe chuteassembly(forward-facing) overthe
chute base.
3. Placechutecontrol leverin the centeredposition.See Figure1.
4. Placechuteassemblyontochutebaseand securechute control
assemblyto chute supportbracketwith clevispin and cotterpin
removedearlier.See Figure3.
