• Avoid accidental
starting. Beinthestarting position whenever pulling
the starter rope. The operator and unit m ust beinastable p osition

Always keep proper footing a nd balance. Take
extra c are when w orking onsteep slopes orinclines.
Always hold theunit w ithboth hands when o perating. Keep a firm
grip onthe grips.
Keep h ands, face, and feet a tadistance from allmoving parts. Do

Donottouch the engine ormuffler. These p arts get e xtremely
hot
from operation,
even after t he unit i sturned o ff.
Donotoperate theengine faster than the speed n eeded tocultivate.

Always stop theengine when cultivating isdelayed orwhen w alking
from one cultivating location toanother.
Ifyou strike o rbecome entangled
with aforeign object, stop the engine

Toreduce fire hazard, replace faulty m uffler and spark a rrestor, keep
theengine and muffler free from grass, leaves, excessive
grease or
carbon b uild up.
AFTER USE
= Clean tines with a household cleaner to remove any gum buildup. Oil
the tines with machine oil to prevent rust.
OTHER SAFETY WARNINGS
Never store a fueled unit inside a building where fumes may reach an
open flame or spark.
Allow the engine to cool before storing or transporting. Be sure to
secure the unit while transporting.
Store the unit in a dry area, locked up or up high to prevent
unauthorized use or damage, out of the reach of children.
Never douse or squirt the unit with water or any other liquid. Keep
handles dry, clean and free from debris. Clean after each use, see
Cleaning and Storage instructions.

WARNING:
Small objects can be propelled at high
speed, causing injury. Keep away from the rotating rotor.
• KEEP BYSTANDERS AWAY
WARNING:
Keep all bystanders, especially children
and pets, at least 50 feet (15 m.) from the operating area.

Do not touch a hot muffler or cylinder. You may get
burned. These parts get extremely hot from operation.
When turned off they remain hot for a short time.
• OIL
Refer to operator s manual for the proper type of oil.
' PRIMER BULB
Push primer bulb, fully and slowly, 10 times.
• GARDEN CULTIVATORS - ROTATING TINES CAN
CAUSE SEVERE INJURY
WARNING:
Stop the engine and allow the tines to
stop before installing or removing tines, or before
cleaning or performing any maintenance.
Keep hands
and feet away from rotating tines.
