    Maintenance If you have problems, do not attempt to repair the unit yourself. Return it to your Alpine dealer or the nearest Alpine Service Station for servicing. Never Attempt the Following Do not grip or pull out the disc while it is being pulled back into the player by the automatic reloading mechanism.
  • Page 7 Installation Location Make sure the IVA-C801/CVA-1006 will not be installed in a location subjected to: • Direct sun and heat • High humidity and water • Excessive dust • Excessive vibrations Correct Handling Do not drop the disc while handling. Hold the disc so you will not leave fingerprints on the surface.
  • Page 8 This ensures the focus of the driver's attention will be on the road and not on the IVA-C801/ CVA-1006. This has been done for the safety of the driver and passengers. Title Input and Audio Processor Adjustments cannot be made if the car is moving.

    Storing into Direct Access Preset (D.A.P.) Band Any combination of AM and FM radio stations (up to 6 stations) can be manually preset onto the D.A.P. band. Press the 4 (D.A.P.) button in the radio mode to activate the D.A.P. mode. To memorize stations onto the D.A.P.

    SOURCE Playback Only IVA-C801 has a built-in CD player. When an optional Alpine CD player or CD changer is connected, you can control it from the head unit. This section describes operation assuming that an Alpine CD player/Changer is connected to the IVA-C801/ CVA-1006.

    Music Sensor (Skip) This feature allows you to go to the beginning of a track. Lightly press the 1 (g) button during the CD play to return to the beginning of the current track. If you wish to return to the beginning of a track further back, repeatedly press the 1 (g) button until the desired track is reached.

    MD player Operation (Optional) (IVA-C801) SOURCE LIST Playing Mini-Disc (MD) When an optional Alpine MD player is connected to the IVA-C801/CVA-1006, you can control the player from the IVA-C801/CVA-1006. (When the MDA-5051 is connected, MDs can be played back only.) Press the SOURCE button.

    (IVA-C801) SOURCE Controlling Navigation System If an optional Alpine Navigation System is connected to the IVA-C801/CVA-1006, some of its functions can be controlled from the IVA-C801/ CVA-1006. The functions and display indicators available will vary depending upon the Navigation System connected.

    (IVA-C801) SOURCE Rotary encoder Operating Auxiliary Devices To operate your devices connected to the AUX terminals on the rear panel of IVA-C801/CVA-1006, follow the procedure described below. WARNING It is dangerous (and illegal in many states) for the driver to watch the TV/Video while driving the vehicle.

    Function buttons (1 through 6) SOURCE Selecting Factory (Maker's) Equalization Presets If an optional Alpine Equalizer is connected to the IVA-C801/CVA-1006, the Equalizer can be controlled from the IVA-C801/CVA-1006. Six equalization curves are preset on the Equalizer at the factory.

    Customizing BBE Mode This function is operative only when an audio processor equipped with the BBE level (Low and High) adjustment feature is connected.     The sound signals bypass the BBE and surround circuits. To turn off the defeat mode, press the 1 (OFF) button. (CVA-1006) Rotary encoder Titling Radio Stations/CDs You can title radio stations and CDs. This manual describes how to title radio stations.

    MODE3 In the Mode 3 (Cinema), the monitor displays a normal picture by stretching out the picture horizontally and vertically. This mode is good for displaying a cinema type picture with the proportion of 16 to 9. MODE4 In the Mode 4 (Normal), the monitor displays normal picture at the center of the screen with a vertical black belt at each side.

When connecting the IVA- C801/CVA-1006 to the fuse box, make sure the fuse for the intended circuit of the IVA-C801/CVA-1006 has the appropriate amperage. Failure to do so may result in damage to the unit and/or the vehicle.

Ground Lead IVA-C801/ CVA-1006 Installing the Tuner When mounting with Velcro fasteners When mounting the tuner with the Velcro fasteners, be sure to choose a flat location. Do not hang the unit from the bottom of the dashboard or rear deck with the Velcro fasteners.
  • Page 63 If your vehicle has no ACC power supply, add an SPST (Single-Pole, Single-Throw) switch (sold separately). If the switched power (ignition) lead of the IVA-C801/CVA-1006 is connected directly to the positive (+) post of the vehicle‘s battery, the IVA-C801/CVA-1006 draws some current (several hundred milliamperes) even when its switch is placed in the OFF position and the battery may be discharged.
