36 Using the answering machine
The default PIN code is 000.
If you make a mistake when entering
your PIN you will hear, "Incorrect
security code, please enter your
security code." Enter the correct PIN.

After the 2nd incorrect attempt, you will
hear, "Incorrect security code" , then a
beep and the machine will hang up.
If you pause for over 10 seconds
without entering a code, the machine
will react as if an incorrect code has
been entered.

Remote access

You can operate your answering machine from any modern
Touchtone™phone by calling your BT Graphite 1500 and
entering a 3-digit security PIN.
Using a PIN code prevents other people from accessing your
machine without permission.

Switch on your answering machine from another phone

If you forget to switch on your answering machine, you can do
it from another phone.
1. Dial your phone number and let it ring. After 20 rings, your
answering machine will switch on.

Operating your answering machine from another phone

1. Call your BT Graphite 1500. When you hear the outgoing
message, press the

Use the phone's keypad to enter your 3-digit PIN (default PIN:
000). The machine announces, "You have 'x' new messages",
and they are played.
3. Using the phone's keypad you can replay, pause, skip or delete
messages and adjust settings.
