Pull the bobbin threads to create the desired
amount of gather, and then smooth the
gathers by ironing them.

Fagoting

Stitching across an open seam is called fagoting. It is
used on blouses and children's clothing.

Separate the two pieces of fabric by about
4 mm (approx. 3/16 inch), and baste them
onto thin paper.

to the maximum (7.0 mm).
