Find and replace options
Select Edit > Replace.
Search for this word or phrase.
Find What
Use this word or phrase as the replacement text.
Replace With
Locate the first occurrence in the text.
Find Next
Replace selected text.

Replace all occurrences.

End the search.

Allow Regular Expressions
Limit the search to strings that exactly match the case of the entered search string.
Match Case
Select the direction of the search.
Direction
Search up from the current insertion point.
Backward
Search down from the insertion point.
Forward
Find and replace text in files
Use the Multifile Find and Replace tool to globally find and replace words in a project.
Select Edit > Find And Replace In Files.

Specify the required options and click Find.
Search for this word or phrase.
Find
Use this word or phrase as the replacement text.
Replace
Specify the file type(s) to search.
Named
Specify the location to search.
Where
Limit the search to strings that exactly match the case of the entered search string.
Case Sensitive
Exclude strings that contain the entered search string.
Whole Word
Exclude HTML tags when searching in HTML files.
Ignore HTML Tags
Back up the original files before replacing text.
Make Backups
Select to allow existing backups to be overwritten when Make Backups is selected.
Overwrite Backups
Select to allow searching within all subfolders in the specified folder.
Include Subfolders

W3C compliance

You can validate XHTML or HTML topics for World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) compliance and view error
messages, informative messages, or warnings. You can validate the following for W3C compliance:
Do one of the following:
Topics
• Right-click a topic in the Project Manager pod and select Validate W3C Compliance.
• Select any topic in Project Manager view and select File > W3C Compliance > Validate. RoboHelp validates the
selected topic and displays warnings or error messages in the Output View pod or the Error List pod.
Recognize MS Word-style or UNIX-style expressions.
