Working with topics
Note: Misspellings are not predefined; be sure to add them explicitly. This feature is Unicode-compliant. You can add
words in any language, including Russian and Japanese, in the same project, a topic, or a paragraph.
Specify a misspelling in the Replace box.
Replace
Specify the correct word in the With box.
With
Click to add the word to the Auto-Correct list.
Add
Click to delete the misspelled entries.
Delete
Cancels any changes made in the dialog box fields.
Cancel
Click to save the changes made in the dialog box fields.

View Ignore Words list

Select the Ignored Words tab. Use this dialog box to view the list of words ignored during spelling checks.
Lists words ignored during the spelling check.
Ignored Words
Click to delete all words from the Ignored Words list.
Delete All
Click to delete the selected words from the Ignored Words list.
Delete
Check spelling in topics or projects
Open a topic in the Design Editor. Do one of the following:

• Select Tools > Spell Check.
• Select Tools > Spell Check All Topics. (Optional) Click Skip Topic.
• Select Tools > Spell Check Project. (Optional) Click Skip.
Select a suggested word or type a replacement in Not In Dictionary.

3 Select options as needed.
To add the word to the custom dictionary, click Add.

Spelling check options for topics
Display the questionable word.
Not In Dictionary
Display a list of suggested spellings for the word.
Suggestions
If a word is not listed, enter the correct spelling in Not In Dictionary.
Add the word to the dictionary.
Add
Skip the word and continue the spelling check.
Ignore
Add the word to the Ignore Word list.
Ignore All
Replace the word displayed in Not In Dictionary with the word selected in Suggestions.
Change
Replace all occurrences of the word displayed in Not in Dictionary with the word selected in Suggestions.
Change All
End the spelling check and close the dialog box.
Close
Note: The Spell Check tool works for the language selected. If the selected language does not support the Spell Check tool,
the tool is disabled in the Tools menu.
