EAN/JAN-8 code encodes a total of 8 digits: two characters
for country of origin, five data characters, and a check
character for error detection. Only 8-digit numeric data can
be used with this code.
EAN-8 supports a supplemental two- or five-digit number to
be appended to the main bar code symbol.
