Managing the Expansion Card

• When writing data to an expansion card, wait for your PDA
phone to complete the operation before removing the card
from the slot. This prevents data corruption or accidental
damage to the expansion card.
• You can install applications to an expansion card after
performing an initial HotSync
Add-on Applications and Files" on page 243 for more
information. For optimal performance, we recommend
that you do not install more than 50 applications to a
single expansion card.
• Since reading and writing information on an expansion
card uses more battery power than performing the same
task on your PDA phone, you may want to consider
copying the information onto your PDA phone.
• When your PDA phone's battery level becomes very low,
access to the expansion card may be disabled to protect
your data. If this occurs, recharge your PDA phone as
soon as possible.
Note: Expansion cards from different manufacturers demonstrate
different data read/write access time specifications.
Expansion cards that require longer data read/write access
time may produce slower performance and/or incorrect data
transfer on expansion card operations.
Following is the list of expansion card operations usaully
performed on SGH-i530.
1. Copying application to an expansion card using copy
menu form application launcher.
2. Recording the voice memo to expansion card.
3. Copying pictures from Camer application to expansion
