Multifilter with
Air quality sensor (option)
Some cars are equipped with a multifilter and
air quality sensor. The multifilter separates
gases and particles, reducing the volume of
odours and contaminants entering the car. The
air quality sensor detects increased levels of
contaminants in the outside air. When the air
quality sensor detects contaminated outside air,
the air intake is closed and the air inside the
compartment is recirculated. The multifilter also
cleans the air recirculating in the compartment.
When the air quality sensor is connected, the
green AUT LED lights in

Automatic climate control ECC with Interior Air Quality system (option)
Operation:

Points to remember:
· Make it a rule to have the air quality sensor
activated at all times.
· Recirculation is limited in cold climates to
avoid misting.
· In the event of misting, you should
disconnect the air quality sensor.
· In the event of the windows misting up you
can also use the windscreen and side
window defroster functions. See next page.
· Follow the Volvo service programme for the
recommended interval for multifilter
replacement. The multifilter may need to be
changed more often if you drive in heavily
polluted environments.
