If a different viscosity than that listed in this table is selected following the information in the diagram, the engine grade requirement must be fulfilled.
Extreme driving conditions
Check the oil more often in extreme driving
conditions such as alpine driving with a great
deal of engine braking or motorway driving at
high speed. These conditions can cause
abnormally high oil temperatures and oil
consumption.
Petrol engines: For extreme conditions, choose
a fully synthetic engine oil to provide extra
protection.
Volvo recommends Castrol® oil products.
