Indicator and warning symbols
WARNING!
If both the BRAKE and ABS warning
symbols are lit up there is a risk that the rear
end will have a tendency to slide during
heavy braking.
If BRAKE and ABS
warning symbols light up at
the same time, there may be a
problem in the brake force distribution.
· Stop the car in a safe place and switch off
the engine.
· Start the car again.
· If both warning symbols go out the fault
was temporary and it is not necessary to
visit a workshop.
· If the warning symbol remains lit, first
check the level in the brake fluid reservoir.
· If the level in the reservoir is below the
MIN mark, the car should not be driven
further. Have it towed to an authorised
Volvo workshop to have the brake system
checked.
· If the brake fluid level is normal and the
lamps remain lit, carefully drive the car to
the nearest authorised Volvo workshop to
have the brake system checked.
