Fuel
Specified fuel consumption
Official fuel consumption figures are based on
a standard driving cycle in accordance with EU
Directive 80/1268 comb. Fuel consumption
figures may change if the car is equipped with
extra equipment that affects the car's weight.
The manner in which the car is driven and other
non-technical factors can affect fuel consump-
tion.
Consumption is higher and power output lower
for fuel with an octane rating of 91 RON.

Recommended fuel grade
Petrol
The engine can be run with octane ratings of
91, 95 and 98 RON.
When driving in temperatures above +38 ºC,
use of fuel with the highest possible octane
rating is recommended for optimum performan-
ce and fuel economy.
· 98 RON is recommended for maximum
effect and minimum fuel consumption.
· 95 RON can be used for normal driving.
· 91 RON must not be used in 4-cylinder
engines and, in general, should only be used
as an exception. However, the engine will
not be damaged by this fuel grade.
Petrol: Standard EN 228
Important!
Refuel with correct petrol!
Your car has a catalytic converter. Only drive
with unleaded petrol so as not to damage the
catalytic converter.
Diesel
Diesel: Standard EN 590
JIS K2204 or similar
Important!
Diesel fuels not to be used: special additives,
Marine Diesel Fuel, fuel oil, RME (Rape
Methyl Ester), vegetable oil.
These fuels do not fulfil the requirements of
EM 590 and generate increased wear and
engine damage that is not covered by the
Volvo warranty.
