Important information for safe use

Make all inputs via the remote control or to the mobile phone only when the vehicle is
stationary, or have the passenger make them. Otherwise, you may endanger the occupants
and other road users.

Making a phone call while driving can greatly reduce your attention and distract you
from the traffic situation. In order to avoid endangering the occupants and other road users,
the driver should not make phone calls while driving. Observe local regulations relating to
making phone calls in the vehicle.

Switch off the telephone at petrol stations, chemical plants, fuel depots or similar facili-
ties, or leave it switched off.
A
Operation of the telephone near the GSM antenna can cause malfunction of medicinal
devices such as heart pacemakers or hearing aids.

Do not touch the GSM antenna during a call.
Advantages of the hands-free unit
In addition to the typical advantages of hands-free units, the VDO Dayton hands free
system offers the following advantages among others:
• comfortable operation of the mobile phone via the clearly legible display screen and
the navigation system IR remote control.
• direct dialling of displayed call numbers for points of interests (depending on map CD)
• automatic switchover to phone mode for incoming calls and switching back to naviga-
tion at the end of a phone call
• use of the SIM-card phone memory
• reading, writing and sending short messages (SMS) via the large display
