GUARD TONE
This command determines whether guard tones are sent out
while the modem is connected to a remote modem.
Guard tones are not used in North America but are
mandatory in some countries outside of North America.
Guard tones are only sent in V22 and V22bis modes.

TRANSMIT LEVEL
This command sets the power level used by the modem to
transmit data over the telephone line. The transmit output
level can range from –10 dBm to –25 dBm.

I&13 = –13 dBm
I&14 = –14 dBm
I&15 = –15 dBm
I&16 = –16 dBm
I&17 = –17 dBm

SELECT ASYNC OR AUTOSYNC MODE
This command selects the communication mode used by
your modem.
Async mode is appropriate for typical modem use.
Hayes AutoSync requires you to use communications
software which supports this feature. Refer to page 3-16 for
more information on Hayes AutoSync.

Disables guard tone.
Enables 550 Hz guard tone.
Enables 1800 Hz guard tone.

&I24 = –24 dBm
&I25 = –25 dBm
Enables Async mode.
Enables Hayes AutoSync. This command is normally
used only by your communications software.
