6-1. Removing the Tx-Guide from the Unit
If a fax tone is heard when you pick up the handset, go to
step 3.
1. Open the OPE panel (operation panel) assembly.
2. Remove the Tx-Guide to the indicated direction carefully
2) To receive a fax on the same call after the conversation,
as shown below.
ask the remote operator to press his/her START key.
3) When a fax tone is heard press *, 9, * in sequence on
the extension telephone.
Note:
You can change the code (* 9 *).
If you still have the fax tone from the remote machine,
press *, 9, * once again.
4) The call is transferred to your fax machine and reception
begins.
The extension telephone is disconnected automatically.
Hang up the handset.
6. Simple Polling
Polling allows your unit to receive a document from an
unattended remote fax machine. The remote party with
the original document must make sure that it is properly
fed into their fax machine so that you can poll it.
1) Make a call to the remote fax machine you want to poll.
2) Press RECEIVE/POLL the remote fax machine answers
with a fax tone.

6-2. Removing the Top-Cover from Base
Your unit begins receiving the document. Hang up the
phone.
1. Loosen the screws fastening the top-cover.(5 screws)
2. Lift up the top-cover carefully by hands.

3. Remove the harness from the base.
* When polling another fax unit to retrieve a document, if
the remote unit is secured with a poll code, you cannot
receive the document.
* Not all fax machines have polling capability, and
polling incompatibility sometimes occur between fax
machines from different manufacturers, so polling may
fail in some cases, even when poll codes are not used.
* Your fax machine cannot be polled. So, other fax ma-
chines cannot poll a document from your machine.
