∙ Children must not be permitted to
operate the appliance. .
∙ The appliance and its power cord must
be kept well away from children.
∙ Children must not be permitted to play
with the appliance.
∙ Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away
from children – these materials are a potential source of
danger, e.g. of suffocation.
∙ Every time the appliance is used, the main body
including the power cord as well as any attachment fitted
should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should
the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto
a hard surface, or if excessive force has been used to
pull the power cord, it must no longer be used: even
invisible damage may have adverse effects on the
operational safety of the appliance.
∙ Do not allow the slicer to come into contact with open
flames or any hot surface such as hotplates.
∙ Do not operate the slicer if the sliding tray, stop plate or
base plate have not been correctly fitted.
∙ For safety reasons, always bring the stop plate back to
its rest (zero) position after use, so that it is flush with
the blade.
∙ Do not allow the power cord to come into contact with
the blade.
∙ Keep your hair, hands, and loose clothing away
from moving parts, openings, and vents to avoid
entanglement.
∙ No responsibility is accepted if damage results from
improper use, or if these instructions are not complied
with.
Intended Use
∙ This appliance has been designed for slicing bread,
sausage, ham, cheese, cold roasts and other fresh
foods that are hard to slice.
∙ The appliance is not suitable for cutting frozen food,
meat with bones or rolled roasts in the mesh.

Operating time
The appliance is designed for short-time operation (short
operation 5 min.), i.e. you can use the universal slicer for
up to 5 minutes without interruption. The motor must then
be switched off to cool down.
Before using the appliance for the first time
∙ Unpack the appliance completely and remove any
protective foils etc.
∙ Before first use, the unit should be cleaned with a damp
cloth, as described in Cleaning and care.
Assembling the food carriage
Insert the latching tabs of the food carriage attachment into
the white plate of the food carriage until it snaps into place.
Positioning the slicer
∙ Place the universal slicer on a smooth, stable support
surface.
∙ Completely unwind the power cord and guide it through
the cable guide on the back of the appliance.
Folding out the support table
Fold the support table down to the horizontal use position
until you hear an audible click.
Fitting the sliding tray
∙ Hold the food carriage vertically against the support table
so that the two hooks on the food carriage grip under the
support table.
∙ Then pull the food carriage upwards under the support
table and fold it 90° onto the support table.
∙ The food carriage is now in the guide groove of the support
table.
Setting thickness
∙ The cutting thickness can be adjusted steplessly with
the adjustment knob.
∙ To avoid injuries to the blade, move the stop plate with
the adjustment knob back to the zero position after each
use so that the stop plate is flush with the blade.
Safety switch
∙ To turn on the motor, first press the release button

switches off.
