Section 3: Session Limit

The Session Limit feature permits you to drop any new sessions from both the WAN and
LAN side when the number of sessions exceeds a maximum amount within a sampling
time.

Session Limit - Settings
Sample Time
The period of time to count the new session. Only those new sessions occurring in the
most recent sampling time will be counted for limit checking. (Default: 400 milliseconds)
Maximum of total new Sessions
If the number of new sessions exceeds the maximum limit during the sampling time, all
new sessions created will be dropped by the gateway. (Default: 65535 session/sec)
Maximum of New Sessions for Host
If the number of new sessions for the host exceed the maximum sampling time, any new
sessions of the host will be dropped. (Default: session/second)
Maximum of Dropped New Sessions for Host
If the number of dropped new sessions for the host exceed the maximum sampling time,
any new session of the host will be dropped for the pause time.
Pause Time
During the duration of the pause time no new session of the suspended host will by
served by the gateway. (Default: 5 minutes)
