ETRIEVE
To edit an electronic file, first scan the document, then retrieve it in a TIFF editing
application, such as PaperPort.

To scan a document and use PaperPort to edit the electronic file:
1. Access the Document Centre embedded HTTP server.
2. Create a scan template for Scan and File Services using the Stored Templates
page within the Services tab. See the procedure under the Template
Operations section for information on how to create a template.
Optionally, select the Scan to PaperPort option in the template.
In the template, specify Text for the Original Type parameter setting for best

results. See the Template Services section of this chapter for more information.
3. Select the template at the Document Centre control panel.
4. Scan the document at the Document Centre. The document is scanned to the
repository.
5. Access PaperPort.
6. Retrieve the scanned document file within PaperPort.

You can set up a faxing template using Internet Services, select the template at the
Document Centre control panel, scan a document which will automatically be
faxed.

To scan to fax:
