Configuring boot options

The following describes how to change the boot mode and boot order.
2.10.1

Setting the Boot Mode

The RUGGEDCOM APE can be configured to boot in one of the following modes:

Changing the BIOS Boot Order

To change the BIOS boot order, do the following:

Smart Mode (Default)
Selects the boot mode automatically based on the last successful boot up.
Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) Mode
Boots the module from an EFI device (e.g. USB flash drive).
Legacy Mode
Boots the device from a legacy device
Power on or reboot the module.
For more information, refer to "Rebooting/powering down the RUGGEDCOM APE
module" (Page 6).
During the boot up phase, press ESC to access the BIOS.
Enter the supervisor or user password, if enabled, to access the BIOS.
Using the arrow keys on your keyboard, select Setup Utility, press Enter, and
then select the Boot tab.
Select EFI/Legacy Device Order and then press Enter to change the boot order.
Select one of the following options and then press Enter:
EFI device first – The module attempts to boot from an EFI device first
before booting from a legacy device
Legacy device first – The module attempts to boot from a legacy device
first before booting from an EFI device
Smart Mode – The module automatically determines from which device to
boot
Press F10 to save your changes.
If booting from a USB flash drive:
