OPERATING EXTERNAL COMPONENTS
[VCR 1, VCR 2, VIDEO] (Video cassette deck)
TV VOL +, — : Raises and lowers the volume.

: Used to call up channeis.
MTS
: Selects the reception mode for multi-channel TV
sound.

Stops playback.
& : Starts playback.
POWER
: Switches VCR power ON/OFF.

: Shifts channels in ascending order.

: Shifts channels in descending order.

: Selects playback.

: Sets pause and still picture.

: Stops tape transport.

: Rewinds the tape and picture search.

: Rapidly advances the tape and picture search.
: This can be used only for VCRs with a TV/VCR
selector. Toggles the antenna output between TV
and VCR.
This function can be used to allow you to listen to the playback
sound while changing the video image only, thus allowing you to
playback and record video images different from the playback
sound source.
For example, VCR 1 can record a video disc picture mixed with
CD sound.
1. Set the input selector to CD.
2. Press the MENU
button on the remote control.
@ An image of the component is displayed in the bottom half of
the TV screen.
3.
Move the cursor to "V.SEL." on the right side of the image,
and press the ENTER button repeatedly until LD is displayed
above "V.SEL.".
e£ach time you press the ENTER button, the video source is
selected in sequence as follows.

[Video Recording]
1. Load VCR 1 or VCR 2 with a tape for video recording.
© {f you select VCR 1 with "V. SEL", record on VCR 2, ind if you
select VCR 2, record on VCR 1.
If you select LD, TV, or VIDEO, you can record on eithe: VCR 1 or
VCR 2.

2. Start
recording
on
the
VCR
loaded
with
the tape
for
recording.
e For VCR, select a line input (external input).
.
3. Start playback of the component selected with tre video
signal selector (V. SEL) and the component selected with the
input selector.
CAUTION:
elf you must operate the video signal selector (V. S&_) during
recording, do so after setting the recording VCR to he pause
mode. If it is operated when the tape is traveling during @ cording,
the recorded image and sound may be disrupted at the point at
which it is operated.
¢!f you experience no video or a wrong video picture, sezlect the
appropriate source by the input selector for the funcican being
used.
