► If 3 LEDs flash red: Remove the battery and
consult a STIHL authorized dealer.
The brushcutter has a malfunction.
► Release the trigger.
The cutting attachment stops rotating after a
short period of time.
► If the cutting attachment continues to rotate:
Remove the battery and contact a STIHL
authorized dealer.
The brushcutter is defective.
12.2
Testing the Battery
► Press button on battery.
The LEDs glow or flash.
► If the LEDs do not glow or flash: Do not use
the battery and contact your STIHL servicing
dealer.
There is a malfunction in the battery.

13 Operating the Trimmer

13.1
Holding and guiding the brush‐
cutter
► Connect the carrying ring (2) to the carabi‐
ner (1).
If you are using a mowing head:
► Hold the brushcutter firmly with one hand on
the control handle so that your thumb wraps
around the grip of the control handle.
► Hold the brushcutter with your other hand on
the loop handle so that your thumb wraps
around the loop handle.

If you are using a metal cutting attachment:
► Hold the brushcutter firmly with one hand on
the control handle so that your thumb wraps
around the grip of the control handle.
► Hold the brushcutter with your other hand on
the loop handle so that your thumb wraps
around the loop handle.
13.2
Setting the power level
Depending on the application, 2 power levels
can be set. The position of the power level slide
(1) shows the power level that has been set.
The selected power level affects the battery's
runtime.
: ECO power level, low performance
Maximum power level, maximum per‐
formance.
When the maximum power level is set, the
brushcutter recognizes the cutting attachment
that has been attached and automatically adjusts
the appropriate speed of the blade.
When the Eco power level is selected, the speed
is reduced.
This can extend the battery runtime.

► Use your thumb to slide the power level
slide (1) into the desired position.
