Security Mode
Recording starts automaticallyif motion is
detected.
Before you begin...
• ConnectCamcorderto powersource,
UseAC Adaptorfor longerrecordings.
• Insert cassettewith recordtab (page11).
• Set POWERto CAMERA.
• Securely positionandaim Carncorder.

Motion Security may mistakenly start
when:
• backgroundis plain, like a whitewall, or
has distinctvertical,horizontal,or
slanted stripes,like a venetian blind.
• brightnesssuddenly changes.
Motion Security may not start when:
• motion is very slow or fast.
• moving object is very small.
• motion occurs only in I corner of
viewing area.
• in poor lighting (in this case, MOTION
SECURITY flashes).
• background is plain, like a white wall, or
has distinct horizontal or vertical stripes.
Note:
• Security recordingstarts if Camcorder is
bumped or repositioned.
• This feature is not available during normal
recording.
• While in MotionSecurity stand-by,the
followingfunctionsare not available:
Record/Pause, Stand-by mode, Digital
EIS, Video Effects (Auto/DigitalFade).

MENU mode.

Press MENU for MotionSecurity
stand-bymode. (If cassette is not

SECURITY SECURITY
• Recordingwill startabout 3 seconds
after motion is detected.
• Date and time are recorded if
displayed in EVF or LCD monitor
(page 16).
• Recordingstops about 30 seconds
after motion ceases.
To cancel SecurityMode,set POWERto
OFF.
