Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a Sony Video Cassette Recorder (VCR). Here
are some of the features you'll enjoy with your VCR:
e Advanced editing function that lets you preset 8 events to be edited
e Flying erase head for smooth transfer between inserted portions
e VCR Pltis+* system that lets you quickly and easily preset the VCR to
record programs

Compatible color systems
This VCR is designed to play back using the NTSC color system.
Playback of video sources based on other color systems cannot be
guaranteed.
Compatible video systems
¢ This VCR uses the 8 mm video format.
e This VCR plays back in the SP mode (approximately 19/32 inches/
second) and the LP mode (approximately 5/16 inches/second). The
quality of the recorded picture in the LP mode, however, will not be
as good as that in the SP mode.
It can record only in the SP mode.
¢ This VCR does not record in the Hi8 video system, nor does this VCR
play back a tape recorded in the Hi8 video system.
¢ PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) recording/ playback, that is, digital
recording / playback, is not possible with this unit. The PCM sound
recorded on another VCR cannot be played back on this VCR.
