What to do in an emergency
If the cooling fan does not work
Operation
僅 Stop the engine.
If the coolant is running out
Operation
1. Stop the engine.
2. Do not open the bonnet.
3. Wait until coolant has stopped run-
ning or the steam stops.
4. Add enough coolant to the reservoir.
If the water pump drive belt is
broken
Operation
1. Stop the engine.
2. Contact a professional workshop or
seek other qualified assistance. Kia
recommends to call an authorised Kia
dealer/service partner.
If overheating happens again
Operation
僅 Contact a professional workshop or
seek other qualified assistance. Kia
recommends to call an authorised Kia
dealer/service partner.
WARNING
僅Whilst the engine is running,
keep hair, hands and clothing
away from the fan and drive
belts to prevent injury.
僅Do not remove the radiator
cap when the engine is hot.
This may result in coolant
being blown out of the open-
ing and cause serious burns.
CAUTION
僅 Serious loss of coolant indicates there
is a leak in the cooling system and this
should be checked as soon as possi-
ble by a professional workshop. Kia
recommends to visit an authorised Kia
dealer/service partner.
僅 When the engine overheats from low
engine coolant, suddenly adding
engine coolant may cause cracks in
the engine. Add engine coolant slowly
in small quantities to prevent damage.
