INFORMATION
僅 Dual-diagonal braking system
Your vehicle is equipped with dual
diagonal braking systems. This means
you still have braking on two wheels
even if one of the dual systems should
fail.
With only one of the dual systems
working, more than normal pedal
travel and greater pedal pressure are
required to stop the vehicle. Also, the
vehicle will not stop in as short a dis-
tance with only a portion of the brake
system working.
僅 Engine oil pressure warning light
- When the engine oil pressure
is low
- Drive carefully to the nearest safe
location and stop your vehicle.
- Turn the engine off and check the
engine oil level (For more details,
refer to "Engine oil" on page 9-35).
If the level is low, add oil as
required.
- If the engine oil pressure warning
light ( ) remains on after adding
oil or if oil is not available, have the
vehicle inspected by a professional
workshop as soon as possible. Kia
recommends to visit an authorised
Kia dealer/service partner. Contin-
ued driving with the warning light
on may cause engine failure.
僅 Exhaust system (DPF) warning light
Whenever there is a malfunction with the eCall system.
Warning and indicator lights
Notes
- If there is a malfunction in the die-
sel particulate filter, the Exhaust
system (DPF) warning light (
appear and "Keep driving to regen-
erate exhaust filter" message will be
displayed on the cluster. Safely
drive at 60 km/h (40 mph), above
2nd gear, engine RPM between
approximately 1,500~2,500 rpm
for approximately over 25 minutes.
The Exhaust system (DPF) warning
light will turn off.
- If the warning light does not turn
off, the DPF warning light will blink
and "Check exhaust system" will be
displayed on the cluster. In this
case, have your vehicle checked by
a professional workshop. Kia rec-
ommends to visit an authorised Kia
dealer/service partner.
僅 Exhaust system (PPF) warning light
- Exhaust system (PPF) warning light
( ) may turn off after the vehicle
speed is over approximately 80
km/h (50 mph), or above 3rd gear
with 1,500~4,000 rpm for a certain
time (approximately 30 minutes).
- If this warning light blinks in spite of
the procedure (at this time the LCD
warning message will be dis-
played), have the system checked
by a professional workshop. Kia
recommends to visit an authorised
Kia dealer/service partner.
