GRE200—Multi function protection IED—has been designed for protection and control of low
and medium voltage system. It can adapt to not only distribution lines and transmission lines
but also versatile system, such as renewable energy system and railway application system. It
has also been designed for extensive hardware and modular software combinations. Flexible
functions, thus, will be provided and users can have well performance, quality and reliability.
The functions, which the IED will provide for the user, are distributed to the following
application and functions:
Relay application;
General control;
Control and monitoring application;
Recording function;
Monitoring function;
Automatic supervision;
Communication.
Relay applications
The user can utilized several main/backup protection applications for the protection, such as
feeder or a machine, motor or transformer. Those have been chosen by the selection of a
software model with the ordering code. The user is able to arrange the protection functions
simply and effectively with settings.

Directional/non-directional phase over current protection
The OC has some relay elements. It includes inverse time and definite time characteristics.

Directional/Non-directional phase earth fault protection
The EF has some relay elements. The choice of characteristic can be selectable either inverse
time or definite time.
[SEF] Directional/Non-directional sensitive earth fault protection
The SEF can provide the user sensitive elements where the magnitude of fault current could
be very low. Dedicated core balance earth fault CT is served. Either Inverse or definite time
characteristic is selected.
[ICD] Inrush current detection
The ICD will detect the second harmonic inrush current present when a transformer is
energized. It measures the ratio between the second harmonic current (I 2f ) and the
fundamental current (I 1f ) on a per phase basis. When the ratio (ICD-2f) comes larger than a
setting value, it operates blocking the functions in the relay application.
[SOTF-OC] Switch on to fault protection
In order to quickly remove a fault which may occur when a faulted line or bus-bar is energized,
