F. Glass Media / Stone Placement
Glass media does not ship standard with this appliance.
See your dealer for ordering glass media. Glass media is
required to operate this appliance.
1. Install glass media. When using multiple media colors,
mix them prior to installation. For optimal performance
and flame appearance, ensure it is spread evenly.
CAUTION: Do not install media behind rear media ledge.
This may cause sooting. See Figure 9.6.

CAUTION: Place only one thin layer of media over the
burner and base pan when using Propane gas. Excess
media on burner and base pan may cause sooting. One
thin layer of media may require less media than indicated
in the above media chart.
WARNING
Delayed Ignition Risk
• Place media according to instructions.
• Do NOT place media in a position that they may
fall into area in front of pilot.
• Do NOT use any media other than the media
supplied with this fireplace.
• Do NOT exceed one layer of media on base pan.
Fireplace will not function properly.
Delayed ignition may occur.

2. If installing a stone kit, refer to the instructions this
section.
3. Remove rock stop jig.
Consumer: Retain rock stop jig for future mainte-
nance or service needs.
4. Reinstall seal plate, glass assembly and decorative
front.
WARNING! Glass seal plate must be properly installed.
Risk of elevated component temps and carbon monox-
ide exposure.
5. Re-connect electrical supply and turn on gas.
Note: A tall, deep orange flame should be avoided; this
type of flame may cause increased soot residue. If this
type of flame is noticed, try adjusting the media directly
beneath the flame. If all flames appear to be tall and deep
orange in color, then open the primary air shutter.
