Setting the Key Management Function

This setting sets the key management function. The methods that are available for setting this function are to
set all the related settings at once or to enable/disable the encryption key management function only.
For logical library (or partition) configurations, regardless of the method used, the key management function
can be enabled/disabled for each logical library (or partition).
Even when this setting is performed, data that is already written in a data cartridge is not encrypted.
After deleting existing data and enabling the key management function, write the data to the data
cartridge again.
To perform this setting, the key management function license must be set in advance. For details, refer to
"2.1.1 Setting the Key Management Function License" (page
When changing the logical library (or partition) configuration or when changing the setting to enable or
disable the key management function, back up the encryption key in advance.
To set the key management function, you must log in to the remote panel using the security administrator
account. For details about how to log in, refer to
(page
23).
