30. Adjusting the counter knife pressure

31. Changing the moving knife

unintentional starting of the sewing machine.

1) Loosen setscrews ❷ and detach gauge ❶.
2) The knife pressure can be adjusted by turning
counter knife turning screw ❸.
The pressure between the moving knife and
counter knife is increased by turning screw ❸
clockwise, or it is decreased by turning the screw
counterclockwise.
1) Lift the knife release lever to lift the knife.
2) Remove setscrew ❶. Detach throat plate ❷.
3) Turn the handwheel to bring the needle near to
its highest point.
4) Push knife driving arm ❺ to turn the moving
knife until moving knife setscrew ❸ is brought to
the upper position. Hold the moving knife at that
position.
5) Remove setscrew ❸ with an accessory hexagon
wrench key. Then, detach moving knife ❹.
6) To install the moving knife, reverse the removal
procedure.
