Creating and transferring a configuration
6.5 Creating a configuration card
Procedure
Follow these steps to finalize the configuration:
1. Open the Config editor by double-clicking the "config_editor.exe" file.
2. In the dialog window, click the "Open Configuration" button and select the desired
configuration file ("*-DRAFT.balcfg").
3. Click the "Release & Export Deployable File" button in the "Your Workflow > Prepare for
deployment" area and save the configuration file in "*.balcfg" file format.
The "-DRAFT" suffix in the file name is replaced by a version number.
Note: The configuration file is usually also saved automatically in "*.bec2" file format. When
"Lowest firmware Version = 1100 v2.00" is selected, an (RF1000) reader must be connected
to the computer. If no reader is connected, you need to click the "Export Deployable File"
button in the "Your Options > Distribute it for deployment" area to save the configuration file
in "*.bec2" file format.
Recommendation: Retain the existing file name and the version number that is automatically
added to the file name as part of the file name. This helps you to maintain an overview of your
finalized versions.
Result: The configuration file is saved and, at the top left under the menu bar in the "This
is ..." area, you are shown that the file was saved with the "Finalzed" status and therefore
cannot be edited further. In addition, the Customer Key Signature "76365887" is assigned to
the configuration file. This signature is identical for all RF1000/RF1100 readers.
Only use the "*.bec2" file to distribute the configuration to your readers.
