LOC Test Setup
1. Simulate a localizer signal using the ramp test equipment.
2. Tune the NAV receiver to the simulated localizer frequency.
3. Set the CDI to VLOC.
LOC NAV Mode
4. Rotate the course pointer on the CDI to the current rotorcraft heading.
5. Simulate 2 dots (left or right) localizer deviation using the ramp test equipment.
6. Press and release the FCS DISC switch to ensure that no flight director is active.
7. If HDG is not coupled, press the HDG key to couple the flight director.
8. Press the NAV key.
9. Verify the following annunciations and displays:
"HDG" is displayed above "LOC" on the GMC 605H
In the FCS annunciation bar on the PFD, "HDG", "P", "R", and "CPLD" are displayed in
green text, and "LOC" is displayed in white text
10. Confirm the cyclic is stationary.
11. Slowly center the localizer deviation using the ramp test equipment.
12. Verify the following annunciations and displays:
A flashing "LOC" is displayed in place of HDG on the GMC 605H for approximately
3 seconds then stops flashing
A flashing green "LOC" is displayed on the PFD for approximately 3 seconds then stops
flashing
NOTE
LOC should capture around 1 dot deviation.
13. Apply left localizer deviation using the ramp test equipment.
14. Verify that the cyclic moves to the right.
15. Apply right deviation using the ramp test equipment.
16. Verify that the cyclic moves to the left.
17. Center the localizer deviation on the ramp test equipment.
18. De-select NAV mode on the GMC 605H.
19. Center the cyclic.
LOC / GS APR Mode
20. Rotate the course pointer on the CDI to the current rotorcraft heading.
21. Ensure the system has a valid and centered GS signal on the CDI.
22. Press the APR key.
23. Verify the following annunciations and displays:
The green LEDs illuminate next to the FCS key on the GMC 605H
"LOC" is displayed on the GMC 605H in the roll field and "GS" is displayed in the pitch field.
"LOC [Roll] and GS [Pitch]", "P", "R", and "CPLD" are displayed in green text on the PFD.
