OPERATING FAULTS
On the road
The engine is overheating. The
coolant temperature indicator is in
the warning zone and warning light
®
comes on.
Coolant boiling in the coolant reser-
voir.
The engine cooling fan starts to run
after the ignition is switched off.
Radiator: if there is a significant lack of coolant, remember that it must never be topped up using cold coolant when the
engine is very hot. After any procedure on the vehicle which has involved even partial draining of the cooling system,
it must be refilled with a new mixture prepared in the correct proportions. Reminder: only products approved by our
Technical Department may be used for this purpose.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
Engine cooling fan not working.
Coolant leaks.
Mechanical fault: damaged cylinder
head gasket.
This is not necessarily a fault. The
engine cooling fan group may start
to run in order to regulate the engine
temperature. This operation may last
several minutes after the engine is
switched off.
The engine cooling fan runs for more
than 10 minutes after the engine is
switched off.
WHAT TO DO
Stop the vehicle, switch off the engine and
contact an approved dealer.
Check the coolant reservoir: it should con-
tain fluid. If there is no coolant, consult an
authorised dealer as soon as possible.
Stop the engine.
Contact an approved dealer.
Consult an approved dealer.
