With manual gearbox:
The driver is unrestrained.

A gear is engaged without declutching.
•
Involuntary stop with manual gearbox
If the engine does not restart, proceed as fol-
lows:
1.
Check that the driver side's seatbelt is
locked in the seatbelt buckle.
2. Depress the clutch pedal again - the
engine starts automatically.
3. In certain cases the gear lever must be set
in neutral position. A message is shown in
the driver display - follow the recommen-
dation given.
The engine auto-starts without the
brake pedal having been released
In the following cases, the engine auto-starts
even if the driver does not take his/her foot off
the brake pedal:
High humidity in the passenger compart-
•
ment forms misting on the windows.
The environment in the passenger com-
•
partment deviates from the set values.
Repeated pumping of the brake pedal.
•
The bonnet is opened.
•
The car starts to roll or increase speed
•
slightly if the car auto-stopped without
being completely stationary.
The following applies to automatic gearbox:
The driver's seatbelt buckle is opened with
•
the gear selector in D or N position.
The gear selector is moved from D to R or
•
M (±) position.
The driver's door is opened with the gear
•
selector in D position - a "ping" sound and
text message indicate that the ignition is
on.
WARNING
Do not open the bonnet when the engine
has auto-stopped. Switch off the engine
normally before lifting up the bonnet.
