Caution.
Risk of material damage caused by frost
inside the house
Even at outdoor temperatures above 0 °C,
there is a risk of frost in the installation room.
Use suitable heat insulation to protect
pipelines and other elements in the install-
ation room that are sensitive to cold.
To prevent the cold air emitted by the product from re-enter-
ing it, maintain the minimum clearance between the upper
side of the product and the ceiling.
Room volume at installation site: ≥ 20 m³
Minimum room height: ≥ 2.20 m

Installing the water connections

5.2.1
Hydraulics installation
Use flat seals.
Torque: ≤ 20 Nm
5.2.2
Connecting the pipe coil cylinder

2
1
1.
Connect the cold water pipe (1).
2.
Connect the domestic hot water flow to (2).
3.
Carry out a leak-tightness check on all connections,
including the domestic hot water circulation (3).
Note
The length of the lines must be as short as
possible. The lines must have correct heat
insulation in order to prevent heat losses
and condensation. Unused lines must be
removed.

Note
Information about the circulation circuit:
Restrict the running time of the circulation
pump.
To prevent a complete mixing of the cylin-
der, do not connect the circulation circuit to
the cold water inlet.
5.2.3
Secondary return pipe connection
Note
The use of a secondary return pipe may cause
heat losses.
1.
To limit the heat losses, add heat insulation to the hy-
draulic connections, the plugs on the cylinder outlet
and all visible lines.
2.
Use a circulation pump with a flow rate between 0.5
and 4 l/min.
3.
Program the circulation pump and select an extremely
short time period for this.
5.2.4
Installing the safety assembly
1.
Install an approved safety assembly (not contained in
the scope of delivery) in the cold water pipe, so that the
permissible operating pressure is not exceeded.
Safety assembly: 0.6 MPa (6.0 bar)
2.
Install the safety assembly as close as possible to the
product's cold water inlet.
3.
Ensure that the cold water inlet is not impeded by an
accessory part (gate valve, pressure reducer, etc.).
4.
Ensure that the safety assembly draining device is not
blocked.
Note
The safety assembly draining device must
comply with the specifications of the gener-
ally applicable regulations.
5.
Position the expansion relief valve's hose in a frost-
protected location. Route the hose with a downward
gradient and in such a way that it leads freely into a
hopper (20 mm clearance). The drain must be visible.
6.
If the cold water supply pressure is higher than
0.5 MPa (5.0 bar), you must install a pressure reducer
upstream of the safety assembly in the cold water inlet.
Recommended pressure: 0.4 ... 0.5 MPa (4.0
... 5.0 bar)
7.
Install a stopcock upstream of the safety assembly.
5.2.5
Preventing scale deposition
1.
For the domestic hot water circuit, use only the follow-
ing materials, which are suitable for potable water.
Copper
Stainless steel
Brass
Polyethylene
2.
Use dielectric connections in order to prevent galvanic
couplings. (→ Page 69)
3.
Observe the applicable standards, in particular regard-
ing hygiene regulations and pressure safety.
