22 Transporting the Chain Saw and
Battery
22.1 Chain Saw
When transporting the chain saw:
► Slide a chain scabbard over the guide bar so that it covers
the entire guide bar and engages in place.
► When transporting the saw by hand, hold it by the control
handle with the guide bar pointing backwards, opposite
the direction in which you are walking.
► When transporting the saw in a vehicle, cover the guide
bar with a chain scabbard and be sure it engages. Secure
and position the chain saw to prevent turnover, impact and
damage.
1
The chainsaw can also be carried by attaching the ring (1) to
your waist belt or a rope.
50
Your saw comes standard with a chain scabbard that
matches the cutting attachment. If you use guide bars of
different lengths on the saw, the length of the chain
scabbard must be matched to the guide bar to reduce the
risk of injury. It should cover the full length of the guide bar.
22.2 Chain Scabbard
Never use the rings on the chain scabbard to transport the
chain saw or secure it to your belt. The saw can slip out of
the scabbard, resulting in personal injury or property
damage. Secure the saw by the hinged carrying ring on the
chain saw housing.
When transporting the chain scabbard:
► Transport the chain scabbard with one of its rings (1).
22.3 Battery
1
To reduce the risk of a short circuit, which could lead to
electric shock, fire and explosion, never transport the battery
with small metal objects capable of conducting electricity
(e.g., paper clips, nails, coins, keys), @ 9.
