If site-specific IP address is not configured, the management module is
configured with the correct IP configuration in these sections:
Management module IP reset
The management module provides an IP reset button to reset the IP
configuration of the management module network interfaces to their factory
default settings. Use a straightened paper clip to press the recessed button.
Pressing the IP reset button erases all configured IP addresses for the
management module.
After the reset, the management module loses connection with any switch
modules and blade servers. Pressing the IP reset button also restarts the
management module.
IP configuration setup
After restarting the BladeCenter management module (and assuming that a
site-specific static IP address was not assigned to the management module
external network interface), the BladeCenter looks for a Dynamic Host
Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server on the network. After two minutes,
the DHCP search times out and the default static IP configuration for the
management module is used.
The factory default IP configuration settings are:
Because the factory default IP address is a non-routable private address, a
special network setup is required to configure the management module.
