Set the function in the multimedia system

If no further operations are performed when
the driver's door has been opened automati-
cally, the door will close after a set time. The
driver's door will not be locked.
To close the driver's door with the brake pedal:
Depress the brake pedal until the door starts
#
to close.
To open or close the front convenience doors
from inside:
Briefly pull the door handle (
page 76).

Automatic operation will then be started.

If you pull the door handle during automatic
operation, the opening or closing process will
be stopped. If you pull the door handle again,
the process will continue in reverse order.
To open the front convenience doors from out-

side: pull on the outside door handle.
To close the front convenience doors from
#
outside: touch recessed sensor surface
the door handle.
Object detection
Object detection uses several sensors to monitor
the opening range of the convenience doors in
order to detect objects. If one of the sensors
detects an object, the convenience doors will be
stopped and a warning will be displayed in the
multimedia system.

Even if the convenience doors are equipped with
sensors, it cannot be guaranteed that all objects
will be detected. Object detection is only an aid
and is not a substitute for the attention of the
vehicle occupants to their immediate surround-
ings when opening and closing the convenience
doors. The vehicle occupants are always responsi-
ble for opening and closing the doors safely.
