Safety instructions relating to the power supply unit

Proper handling of the devices
When electrical devices are operated, certain parts necessarily conduct dangerous voltages.
Therefore, improper handling of the devices can lead to death or severe injury as well as
significant property damage.
Only appropriately qualified personnel may work on or in the vicinity of this device.
This device can only function correctly and safely if it is transported, stored, set up and
installed correctly.
Before installation or maintenance work is started, the main switch of the system must be
switched off and secured against being switched on again.
If this instruction is not followed, touching live parts can result in death or serious injury.

Safety instructions relating to the controller

If you install or remove the S7-1200 or devices connected to it while in switched-on
state, you may suffer an electric shock or the devices may operate unexpectedly.
Take all necessary safety precautions and make certain that the power supply to the S7-
1200 CPUs is switched off before installing or removing a device.
