Enter the Hardware Address of the 2000E. This address is listed on the
EcoLAN 2000E Network Status Page under 2000E ID Information, Hardware
Address. For example, 00:40:af:13:c9:f0. Please enter it as it appears on the
status page.

parameters will be listed in the TCP/IP Network Information section on the status
page. If the status page doesn't print, recheck the Hardware Address entry in
Bootp Lite.
5. The new IP address may also be verified by pinging the 2000E. From an MS/DOS
prompt enter: ping [IP address of EcoLAN 2000E], for example:
ping 197.32.154.12
If there is no response to the ping, verify the IP address on the EcoLAN 2000E

5.7.2 Assigning the IP Address with ARP

Prior to running the ARP command line utility, obtain an EcoLAN 2000E Network
Status Page from your printer. The status page may be printed on demand by pressing
the Status key on the front panel of the printer. Check the network status page to be
sure that TCP/IP is enabled, and that an IP address has not already been assigned.
Information from the status page will be needed during the ARP setup procedure.
If the 2000E already has an IP address, the ARP utility will not work. The new IP
address should be assigned with the printer front panel (Chapter 8) or by connecting to
the existing IP address with a web browser (Chapter 3) or with Telnet (Chapter 8) or, if
running IPX, by configuring with MAP (Chapter 3).
The EcoLAN 2000E must be on the same network segment as the workstation that
you are using to configure it. The TCP/IP stack must be installed and operating on the
workstation.
1. From Windows, open an MS/DOS window.
2. At the DOS prompt enter:
ping [any valid IP address on your network - not the 2000E],
for example: ping 201.16.133.5
Windows Configuration 5-20
